Our spirits & wine appraisers are members of accredited appraisal organizations and have earned multiple spirits & wine appraisal designations and other valuations expert credentials over the years. In other words, each appraisal designation that our wine valuation experts has earned is equivalent to a minimum of two years of appraisal methodology training. Appraisal designations are only awarded by appraisal associations once the appraiser has proven their competence through rigorous testing in the areas of appraisal theory, appraisal methodology, and valuations knowledge in proving demonstrable professional experience in their field of appraisal expertise.

Company founder and senior spirits & wine appraiser and expert witness Tom DiNardo has earned the following professional appraiser designations: Senior Professional Appraiser (SPA), Certified Accredited Appraiser (CAA), Association of Online Appraisers (AOA-CM), Master Personal Property Appraiser (MPPA), General Personal Property Appraiser (GPPA), ISA Accredited Member (ISA-AM), and also ASA Candidate. The sum total of ALL of these valuation and appraisal designations equals approximately fourteen years of classroom training in appraisal methodology. Mr. DiNardo has worked as a spirits & wine valuations expert for decades.

Once the appraiser has earned their appraisal designation, they are then required to pass the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (i.e. USPAP is a law created by US Congress in 1986) examination in order to be awarded this accreditation. These successful USPAP accredited appraisers are then listed with the Appraisal Foundation which is based in Washington DC. All Winery & Wine Appraisals written appraisal reports comply with the federally mandated USPAP guidelines as established by the U.S. Congress. Appraisers are also required to retake the USPAP exam every two years in order to maintain compliance with current federal USPAP requirements.
