Professional spirits & wine appraiser Tom DiNardo is not just your average spirits & wine appraisal and valuations professional. Tom began working part-time in the wine industry in 1987 before becoming one of the country’s most sought after wine appraisers.

Tom entered the spirits and wine appraisals profession full time in 1993. Tom DiNardo is now a nationally recognized as a professional sommelier, wine expert, valuations specialist, and wine educator. He is also a wine judge, counterfeit wine identification expert, and wine fraud investigator. Tom is an acclaimed charity auctioneer and an occasional freelance wine writer.

In 2007 Tom DiNardo received his sommelier diploma from the International Sommelier Guild which catapulted his spirits and wine appraisal expertise and career to a whole new level. Tom is an international wine judge for many wine competitions such as the Indianapolis International Wine Competition, West Coast Wine Competition, Denver International Wine Competition and the Northwest Wine Summits to name just a few. In 2010 he was inducted into the Seattle chapter of the Commanderie de Bordeaux as a Founding Commandeur.

As a former law enforcement officer, Tom DiNardo has put that training to great use in his spirits & wine appraisals career. He offers his clients contract Special Investigations Unit (SIU), spirits & wine investigator, wine fraud detective, and counterfeit wine identification services.

Tom is currently spending much of his time performing appraisal reports for insurance companies, law firms, banks, and individuals. Tom DiNardo is a member of the International Association of Special Investigations Units (IASIU), and he works occasionally as an insurance special investigator, and or testifies as a consulting wine expert or Daubert Qualified Expert Witness as assignments may require. He is now writing a wine education book, and is now perhaps best known for his Internet wine personality – The Wine Zealot.
